Geek Squad- really though?

Well, it happened.  I have officially become one of those statistics of people that get scammed.

I saw this email:

And  for some reason, I thought, okay, no problem- obviously that's BestBuy at it again. I didn't think wait, that isn't Best buy in the email address sender (which it wasn't - it was this rando- Dinoi Luis dinoiluis147@gmail.com

So I call this number. And I dispute the call.

And I go into auto mode without questioning when the guy tells me to type in this random website into my browser... which takes me to some random program to download his buggy program that will basically hack my stuff and overtake everything.

Hmm...

Now I'm old enough to remember that I don't actually keep any of my bank passwords autosaved on my laptop, so he doesn't actually have access to that stuff, but he does have access to some files that have SSN numbers if he knows where to look.  That's what I'm worried about.  I'm not sure how far that will get him, but identity theft is a real problem even with my already bad credit these days.

So anyway, a lot of shit to say about this but I'm trying to figure out how to report all this stuff appropriately.
