Phishing Attacks
I made three reports for a recent phishing attack, and doubled down when I realized it was for the same person who victimized me last year.
1) FBI- IC3
https://www.ic3.gov/
(Click the "File a Report" button in the menu at the top.)
2) APWG
email reportphishing@apwg.org
3) FTC
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
And how to figure out the IP addy of the email- Click on the three vertical dots by the reply button in Gmail, and <show original>.
The phishing attack I looked at had a line about 3/4 way down that said:
SPF:PASS with IP 209.85.220.41 Learn more
I don't know for sure it was the same organization that was trying to attack again. In fact, when I tried to write a snarky reply back, the email was not even valid, and I got a bounce.
However, I felt that reporting was a good use of my time for now, until this inevitably happens again.
