In our Own Voice (IoOV from NAMi) avec Pepe le Pew

 It's kinda funny but Being from Wildflowers' Mvmt, I've learned to distrust language like "Mental illness" and respect instead "Mental Health" as the standard nomenclature for my work, and here I go again working for a group whose name is literally "NAMi or National Alliance on Mental "illness" which I feel like is a little bit like working for something like a group like NAACP back in the 80s which was a thing back then, when being politically correct was starting up.

The website for training these days seems to be down as well, which I think might also be a sign of the times. Is it?  Hmm... Food for thought.

Keep an eye out for it.  It's making all of us trained up NAMI Connections peer advocates think about whether or not we should be training online or in person with them like back in the old days before AI. :)

At the time of this posting (4:41pm on 4/14/2023) this is the error message I'm seeing on my end:

Meanwhile all of us out here in the real world miss the old days when we could write about our Dark Days and print out our stories and train without worrying about timing ourselves with all the video hiccups of internet and WIFI upload and download speed time problems.

Do not pass Go, and go Directly to Jail.  That's what I'm saying.  Please NAMi, if the Bridge isn't working just shut it all down and go back to using people like the old school days, and maybe just maybe consider changing up your name.

Here are a couple of possible suggestions just for starters:

National Alliance of Mindfulness & Inspiration  (Still NAMI, but doesn't that sound so much better?)

National Alliance of Mental Integrity (Because isn't that what we're all after?)

National Alliance of Meaningful Interpersonal Relationships (NAMIR which offers just a bit more)
